Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the serene countryside near Leerdam, Herberg de Lingehoeve offers a remarkable balance between luxury and value. This charming former farmhouse features tasteful décor and a thatched roof, adding a unique historic touch. Upon arrival, the friendly staff welcomed us warmly, a delightful start to our one-night stay. Our room, comfortable and equipped with tea and coffee facilities, provided a relaxing space after a day of cycling-a handy rental shop just 1.5km away adds extra convenience for exploring the picturesque surroundings. The flat-screen TV and parquet flooring gave the room a modern yet inviting feel. Breakfast was a highlight, with a generous buffet that included freshly baked breads and a selection of beverages, enhancing the overall experience without additional costs. While I didn't dine in the restaurant, the setting seemed inviting for evening meals or afternoon tea. For travelers keen on balancing luxury and budget, the Herberg is a smart choice. Whether for a brief stop or extended stay, it undoubtedly captures the spirit of the Dutch countryside-even on a budget.
